FAQ

Would you travel to the Isle of Wight?

Yes, there would be a charge for the ferry and you would need to pick me up at the ferry port. I have many clients on the Island.

I work Monday to Saturday, so my only free day is Sunday would you come and see me then?

I don’t work Sundays. However I can do evenings instead.

My Aunty lives in Salisbury. Would you visit her to do her Will?

Yes, I would need to add a charge for the fuel. Normally £10. The area I usually cover for this price is a 30 mile radius of Locks Heath, Hampshire.

If I want to leave my jewellery to my niece should that go in the Will?

Yes, it can go in the Will or it can go into a ‘Letter of Wishes’. Although a letter of wishes is not legal and binding, so your Trustees do not have to follow it.

What is an executor?

An Executor is someone you trust who will deal with your estate if you die, eg. a family member or friend.

What is a Trustee?

A Trustee has the same role as an executor (as above) but then has the further responsibility of managing a trust, which may run for several years. For example, if money is left to children, it could remain in trust for them until they are 25 years old.

Can Trustees and executors be the same people?

Yes they can.

How many should I appoint?

You only need one executor to act. Although you should always appoint ‘substitutes’.

You need two trustees to act at any time together and you can have up to four acting together.

What should I do if I fall out with someone who is in my will?
